Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus, founded in 1882, is the largest Catholic fraternal service organization in the world. The order that started as a single council in New Haven, Conneticut has grown to over 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members. We are proud to have a local council with over 180 members.
Fr. Paul Sutter Council # 4858, based in Sullivan, serves three local parishes: St. Anthony of Sullivan, Holy Martyrs of Japan, and St. Francis of Bourbon. All of the good works the council does are based on the four core principles of the organization including Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. To support their charitable efforts, our local council hosts bingo every Monday evening, a delicious fish fry every Friday during Lent, rents their facility for events as well as other fundraisers.
Council # 4858 also has a Ladies Auxiliary that supports the men in the their fundraising needs, as well as raising other funds for local needs and charities.
